Scopa Properties is a family-owned enterprise with sites located in Southern Oregon and Northern California. Years of meticulous planning and an enduring desire to provide guests with a “home away from home” experience has culminated in the most recent endeavor, Scopa at the Sea on North Pebble Beach in Crescent City, California.
The folks at Scopa at the Sea consider it a privilege to share the wonder and bounty of Del Norte County with guests from all corners of the globe.
Innkeeper and Owner Deborah Prefontaine welcomes you to Scopa at the Sea. As resident expert homemaker and cook, Deborah delights in providing the ultimate Bed and Breakfast experience. Her love of Del Norte County and California’s Wild River Coast seamlessly translates into an enhanced experience for Scopa guests as she is intimately familiar with the region and all it has to offer.
Deborah has first-hand knowledge of the activities and guest services associated with a stay at Scopa at the Sea and can confidently tailor recommendations most suited to individual guests and groups.
Deborah’s passion for cooking and homemaking was fostered early in childhood as she learned to preserve delicious ingredients and create wholesome baked goods from her Mother. Deborah’s “Anadama” bread, fashioned from molasses and cornmeal, was a staple Deborah lovingly created for her family and now shares with Scopa at the Sea guests as part of the freshly baked breakfast presented every morning at the Inn.
Most recently, Deborah’s creative talents were featured for many years at a fishing lodge on Oregon’s infamous Rogue River where she created daily meals, desserts and portable lunches for discerning guests from all walks of life.
At Scopa at the Sea, Innkeeper Deborah lovingly produces the much awaited daily breakfast available from 8:30 to 9:00 A.M., is known to present warm cookies or homemade pie, (heaping with local berries she has carefully harvested), around 3:00 in the afternoon and oversees the 5:00 P.M. Evening Wine Reception at Scopa at the Sea. Deborah is available to assist guests daily until she retires to her on-site residence at 10:00 P.M. for some much-deserved rest.
Deborah is committed to making your stay at Scopa at the Sea an unforgettable Bed and Breakfast experience!
